K-Kids Food Drive

The K-Kids organized their annual food drive for Thanksgiving. Non-perishable food was donated by our students.  The students divided the food to donate to families that are in need in the holiday season.

Science Day

Mr. Rotatori wrote a Munster Education Foundation Grant to implement a hands on  Science Day for the students.  Mr. Rotatori works at the Museum of Science and Industry. Mr. Kent and Mr. Rotatori brought their knowledge of Science to the children at Elliott. Students participated in activities throughout the day to improve Science and Math standards.

The Dog and the Dolphin

Dr. Dworkin, Chancellor of Purdue North Central, wrote a children's book, "The Dog and the Dolphin".  He read the book to each grade level at Elliott Elementary as well as Mike Chelich (Elliott Alumni), the Illustrator, accompanied him and showed the kids a few things about illustrating books.  His daughter Aubrey attended Elliott and gifted Elliott with a beautiful eagle drawing that is hung up in the rotunda.

Walk to Stay Fit

Annually staff and students walk to promote fitness.  Elliott raises money for Professional Development for the staff at Elliott.  This year we raised over $5,000.  Staff, parents, and students have a great time walking together.

Community Readers

Elliott started a Community Reader Program this school year.  We have had numerous community members come to read books to the students.  This allows for the students to have interactions from community members.  The students love having this positive interaction!!

DARE Officer of the Year

Officer Ghrist was awarded DARE Officer of the year. Elliott recognized him at an assembly.  Each grade level recognized him with their own class-centered award.  Officer Ghrist was able to attend with his wife and children.  He is an asset to the Munster School District.
